Metallica Presale 2027: How to Get Tickets, Country by Country

The Fifth Member fan club and the Metallica presale of 21 September

The Vancouver entry in the record states that the presale took place from Monday 21 September 2026, beginning with the Fifth Member fan club and followed by partner presales, ahead of a general sale on Friday 25 September. The Fifth Member is the band's official membership programme, and being a member is the gate. That makes this presale different from a card window or a promoter list, since the benefit comes from a relationship with the band itself and is usually tied to a paid or registered membership with a start date. The fan club window comes first because the band prefers to reward its supporters before the public.

The record does not describe the membership terms, so we do not state them. In general, fan clubs can limit the number of tickets, assign time slots or offer a choice of seat categories before the public sale. Our fan club presale guide explains the typical rules, including the question of how long you must have been a member and whether a lapsed account qualifies. If you want to be in the first window next time, check your membership status well before an announcement, and renew if necessary. Joining after the news is usually too late. A practical tip is to log in to the fan club site a day early, to check that your password works and that your details are saved.

Metallica presale for the Sphere residency: why it is a different kind of sale

The Las Vegas shows run on twelve dates from 28 January to 13 March 2027, usually in pairs on Thursdays and Saturdays, according to the dates in our record. A residency is sold like a theatre season: tickets are released in batches, the venue and the promoter use their own channels, and dynamic pricing can shift as dates fill. Our record says only that these tickets have been on sale since March 2026, so they were released more than six months before this page was written. Many of the early windows are therefore long over, and what remains is whatever the venue and the seller have added.

For a fan who wants to see the show, the practical advice is to check the Ticketmaster listing for each night and the venue's own site, to compare weekday and weekend prices and to look at the seat map for Sphere's unusual bowl. Residencies often have a lot of date options, which is an advantage over a single stadium night. Our United States guide and dynamic pricing explainer describe how prices can change from one day to the next and how to read the labels you see during a sale. Sphere's unusual interior also means that sound and visual effects differ by section, so read reviews or fan photos of the seat area you are considering.

The M72 stadium run: Metallica presale across the United States

The stadium dates begin on 13 May 2027 in San Diego and then visit El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo (at Orchard Park), Madison, Cleveland and Salt Lake City, ending on 19 June. This is a route that uses many college and professional football grounds, and the tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and the venue box offices, according to the record. The presale pattern for Vancouver suggests the same structure for the American cities: a Fifth Member window, partner windows and then the Friday general sale, though our record does not state it for each city, so we do not claim it.

Stadium shows on this type of tour often use a two-stage layout with a central stage, which means the seat map can be unusual and sections behind or beside the stage may be sold at lower prices with a partial view. Read the descriptions carefully. If you want to compare cities, consider the travel and hotel costs as well as the ticket price, because a small market can be much cheaper overall than a big one. Check the age rules and bag policies of the football ground, which are usually stricter than at an arena. Our Verified Fan guide explains one of the gates you may meet.

Vancouver and the Canadian side of the Metallica presale

The only Canadian date in the record is BC Place in Vancouver on 8 May 2027. The entry gives the clearest sequence: the Fifth Member presale from 21 September, partner presales afterwards, and a general sale on 25 September at 10am local time via Ticketmaster. That is a gap of four days, long enough for the fan club to finish before the public. Vancouver is on Pacific time, so the 10am start is a mid-day start in Eastern Canada and an evening start in Europe, which is worth remembering for a fan who plans to try from abroad. Time zones are one of the most common reasons people miss the first minute of a sale, so convert the start time carefully.

BC Place is a roofed stadium, so weather is not an issue, and its seat map includes floor sections that depend on the stage plan. Canadian buyers should note that prices are in Canadian dollars and that resale rules differ between provinces. British Columbia has its own consumer rules, so check the terms attached to the ticket. Our Canada guide sets out the basics. Fans from the American Pacific Northwest often cross the border for the show, so check passport and entry requirements before booking travel. Public transport links to the stadium are strong, and many fans arrive by the SkyTrain, so a hotel near a station can save time on the night.

What to do if you missed the Metallica presale

The windows are closed, but options remain. Start with the Ticketmaster page for your chosen date, and look at it more than once, because returned and released seats appear throughout the weeks before a show. Look at the official resale tool, where fans list tickets at prices they set, and compare with other listings for the same section. Consider a nearby city, since the stadium run has several dates within driving distance of each other. A weekday show in a smaller market is often easier to buy than a weekend one in a big city. Do not give up after a single check; the pattern of returns is slow but steady, and the best seats often appear in the final fortnight.

Think about the whole cost. Travel, hotel, parking and food can double the price of a stadium trip, so do not stretch your budget on a ticket alone. Avoid paying by bank transfer or to unknown individuals, and compare the details of any resale listing with the official event page. The alert form on this page tells you if a new date or a new window is announced. For a general explanation of the rules on transfer, see our resale rules guide, and for upcoming windows in general use the calendar. Setting a total budget, rather than a ticket budget, helps you decide calmly when a resale listing tempts you with a better view.

Preparing for the next Metallica presale

A band with a strong membership programme usually opens its next sale to members first, so check the status of your account now. Make sure the email, address and payment details are current, and that the name matches the name on your card. Join the mailing lists of the venues and promoters in the countries where you might buy. Create Ticketmaster accounts in advance, and test a login. If you hold a card with a presale programme, check its benefits page, though remember that the band's own fan club normally comes first. If you belong to more than one fan community, such as a band's official club and a venue list, keep a note of which email address is used for each.

On the day, join the queue early, avoid refreshing and use one device. Have your first and second choices of date ready, and agree the budget with your group beforehand. After buying, store the ticket in your wallet app, check the confirmation email, and keep the order number. Our presale queue guide explains how waiting rooms work and what the screens mean. We cannot promise access to any sale, but good preparation does improve the odds, and the alert form on this page will tell you when a new window is announced. If you share a household account with someone else, agree who will be logged in, as two sessions on one account can cause problems.

Metallica presale FAQ

The following answers rely on the network record as of 25 October 2026. It confirms the Sphere on-sale since March 2026, the M72 on-sale on 25 September 2026, and the Vancouver sequence, and it contains no prices or ticket limits, so we give none. The venue and the ticket seller are the final authority on every detail, and the alert form on this page is the quickest way to be told of changes such as added dates or new windows. We never publish or sell presale codes, and we advise against paying anyone who claims to offer access in exchange for money. Because the tour mixes a residency and a stadium run, details that are true for one may not be true for the other, and we flag the difference wherever it matters for your decision, including the dates and the sellers. We update this page when the record changes.

What was the Metallica presale for the M72 stadium dates?

For Vancouver, the record says the presale began on Monday 21 September 2026 with the Fifth Member fan club, followed by partner presales, and that the general sale opened on Friday 25 September at 10am local time via Ticketmaster. For the American stadium dates the record says only that tickets have been on sale since 25 September via Ticketmaster and the venue box offices, so we do not claim the same sequence for each city. The windows are now closed. Check each venue page for the live status, and try the official resale tool for returned tickets. Keep in mind that the later partner presales are separate from the fan club window, and each has its own eligibility rules and its own start time, so read the details of any offer that applies to you. A sign-up page may also close before the window opens, so check deadlines in advance and do not leave registration until the last hour.

Do I need to be a member for a Metallica presale?

The first window was for the Fifth Member fan club, so membership helped, but the later partner presales and the general sale were open to others. Membership rules, including cost, start date and ticket limits, are set by the fan club and are not described in our record. If you want to be a member for a future tour, join well before any announcement, and check the terms carefully. Do not buy a membership from a third party or pay for a login, and keep your account secure with a strong password, since fan club accounts are valuable targets. If you join a fan club only to get tickets, think about whether the membership is worth it if you do not succeed, since fees are normally non-refundable. Weigh that against the value of the other benefits that the club offers before you pay anything. Ask the club to confirm what the membership includes for the tour in question.

Is the Sphere Metallica presale the same as the stadium one?

No. The Sphere shows have been on sale since March 2026, which is many months earlier, and a residency in a single venue is sold in batches and with dynamic pricing. The stadium dates went on sale on 25 September after a fan club window. For a fan, the main difference is availability: a residency has many nights, so there is often a date that fits, while a stadium date is a single night with large but finite demand. Check the ticket listing for each night, and compare weekday and weekend prices. Sphere also has its own policies on bags, age and entry, which are published by the venue and are worth reading before you go. Many fans overlook them until they reach the door, which can mean a long walk back to a locker or a refused entry. Check them for each venue separately, since the Las Vegas venue and a football stadium do not share the same rules. If anything is unclear, ask the venue before the day.

How can I find Metallica tickets after the presale and sale?

Start with Ticketmaster and the venue site for your chosen night, and look again at different times of day. Check the official resale platform, compare listings for the same section, and consider other cities on the tour. Be careful with any seller who asks for payment outside a protected method, and check the date, venue, section and total price before you pay. Production holds and returned tickets often reappear in the last weeks. Use the alert form on this page so that we can tell you about new releases and added dates as soon as the record shows them. If you travel from abroad, check visa or entry authorisation rules for the United States or Canada well before booking, as they can take time to process. Keep the order confirmation handy, as border staff and hotels may ask what the purpose of your trip is, and remember to check that your passport is valid for the whole stay. Allow extra time in case of delays, and avoid tight connections on the day of the show.
