Presales in Mexico in 2027: Preventa Bancaria and Fila Virtual
A Mexican presale is built around a word every concertgoer in the country knows: preventa. For major shows it usually means a bank or card window that opens a day or two before the venta general, the general sale, and for decades the most visible version has been the preventa bancaria tied to Banamex cards on events promoted by Ocesa and sold through Ticketmaster México. Around that core sit artist and fan club presales, card network windows such as Mastercard, a virtual queue that can hold hundreds of thousands of people for a stadium show, and a consumer protection authority, Profeco, that has become much more active since the sales of early 2026. In the 2027 tour data we follow, eight international tours had Mexican dates listed by late October 2026, with eleven shows, ten of them in Mexico City and one in Guadalajara. Four of those tours had a presale on record, and three of those presales were Mastercard windows.
This guide focuses on how the system works rather than on a list of dates. It explains how the bank window is organized, which cards are accepted and which are commonly refused, how the fila virtual behaves, what the service charges are and who regulates them, and what is known at the time of writing about resale and nominative tickets. Rules and partnerships in Mexico have shifted recently, with the separation of Banamex from Citi, new Profeco guidelines and debated reforms to the consumer protection law, so treat every specific term as something to check in the current conditions of the event, the bank or the platform. The site uses US spelling, and prices are always in Mexican pesos unless an announcement states otherwise. To hear when a window opens and through which channel, use the alert form on this page; we never share codes.

How a Mexican presale is organized: preventa, venta general and Ocesa
Most large concerts in Mexico are produced or co-produced by Ocesa, the country's dominant promoter, which is part of the Live Nation group, and sold through Ticketmaster México. Other promoters and ticketing companies exist, and some festivals and smaller venues sell through their own systems or through regional platforms, but for arena and stadium shows the Ocesa and Ticketmaster combination is the reference. A typical campaign announces the date, then publishes a short sequence: an artist or fan club preventa when the act has a registration list, a bank or card preventa, and the venta general. Sometimes an extra date is added if the first sells out, with its own presale. In our 2027 data, the median gap between the first presale and the general sale was two days, the same compression seen elsewhere in North America, which means the decisions are made within a very short period, usually in the middle of a working week.
The data also shows how far ahead shows go on sale. The median lead time between the sale and the concert was about 174 days, close to six months, so a show in early 2027 typically opened in the autumn of 2026. Fontaines D.C.'s Mexico City date on 25 March 2027, for instance, had a presale from 29 September to 1 October 2026 and a general sale on 2 October, while Fuerza Regida's show on 31 January 2027 had a presale on 1 October and a general sale the next day. Jay Wheeler's La Voz Favorita World Tour date in Mexico City on 16 May 2027 followed the same rhythm, with a presale on 7 October and a general sale on 9 October. Those three examples share a pattern worth remembering: a midweek presale, a Friday general sale, and a window of only one to three days in which to act.

Preventa bancaria: Banamex and the Mexican presale card window
The bank presale is the most distinctive feature of the market. For years, Citibanamex was the exclusive bank partner on many Ocesa events, and its cardholders could buy before everyone else, often with the option of paying in interest-free monthly installments, the familiar meses sin intereses. Following the separation of Citi's retail business in Mexico, the bank operates under the Banamex name, and coverage at the time reported that existing cards, many of them still carrying the Citibanamex brand, would continue to work normally, including for presales. Recent examples include the Vive Latino 2026 festival, whose presale in October 2025 was reported as exclusive to Banamex, and the Mexico City Grand Prix 2026, whose bank presale ran through Ticketmaster in November 2025. Banamex's own pages also describe interest-free installments on Ocesa events above a minimum purchase amount. Partners can change from one event to the next, so always confirm which bank holds the presale for the show you want.
Mechanically, a bank presale in Mexico usually works without a code. When the window opens, the Ticketmaster event page asks for the first digits of the card, which identify the issuing bank, and the purchase must then be paid with an eligible card. Debit and credit cards can both qualify, depending on the terms, but debit cards must have online purchases enabled. The number of tickets per card and per transaction is limited, and the terms sometimes restrict the instalment option to credit cards. Because the window lasts one or two days and draws enormous demand for major acts, the bank presale can account for a large share of the best seats. If you hold the partner bank's card, check the expiry date, the available credit for the full amount and the bank's online security settings before the sale. A declined payment at the last step often means losing the seats held in your cart.
Mastercard and other networks in a Mexican presale
Card networks also run their own windows. In our 2027 data, all three tours with a card presale in Mexico carried a Mastercard window: Fontaines D.C., Fuerza Regida and Jay Wheeler, each in Mexico City. Mastercard presales in Mexico are generally open to holders of any Mastercard issued in the country, regardless of the bank, which makes them broader than a single-bank window. Coverage in 2026 reported a Mastercard-only presale for Karol G's Mexican dates, followed by a general sale the next day through Ticketmaster, and other banks have held presales on particular events, with HSBC cited for a 2025 sale. Our Mastercard presale guide describes how these windows work across markets. The key point for buyers is that a Mexican presale may be tied to a bank, to a network or to the artist, and the announcement is the only reliable place to learn which one applies to the show you want.

The fila virtual: how the Mexican presale queue behaves
For high-demand shows, Ticketmaster México uses a fila virtual, a virtual waiting room. Fans who open the event page before the start time are placed in a lobby, and when the sale begins they receive a position in the queue, generally assigned at random among those who arrived before the opening. Arriving long before the start does not usually improve your position, but arriving after the start places you behind everyone already waiting. Coverage of earlier bank presales advised joining at least thirty minutes ahead, which leaves time to log in, check the card and deal with any verification step. For the largest stadium sales, queue positions can run into the hundreds of thousands, and the counter may move slowly or pause. Keep a single session open, avoid refreshing the page, and follow the platform's current guidance on multiple devices, since duplicated sessions can be flagged and removed from the queue.
Once you reach the front, the seat map shows the sections still available in that window, and a countdown limits the time to complete the order. Prices in Mexico are usually shown by zone, from general admission floors and numbered floor sections to lower and upper tiers, and the price per ticket is shown with the service charge. Decide in advance which zones you would accept and your maximum total, including charges, because choosing under time pressure leads to mistakes. If the zone you want is gone, a second look a few minutes later sometimes reveals tickets released from abandoned carts, though nothing guarantees it. Our presale queue guide and the presale day checklist walk through the preparation step by step. For a Mexican presale, the most important single check is that your card is accepted, which is the subject of the next section.

Which cards work in a Mexican presale
Card acceptance is a frequent source of disappointment. Ticketmaster México accepts the main networks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express, but coverage in 2026 reported that cards issued by certain banks, including Banco Azteca and BanCoppel, as well as department store cards, were not accepted on the platform; some prepaid and digital wallet cards have also been reported as problematic. That list can change, so check the payment methods shown on Ticketmaster's help pages before the sale rather than discovering a rejection at checkout. During a bank presale, only the partner bank's cards qualify, and during a network presale, only cards of that network. During the general sale, any accepted card can be used. If you plan to pay in interest-free installments, make sure the option applies to your specific card and the amount you intend to spend, since minimum purchase thresholds often apply. Finally, international cards generally work, but foreign banks may block the transaction as unusual, so warn yours in advance.

Cargos por servicio and the price you see in a Mexican presale
Every ticket sold online in Mexico carries a cargo por servicio, a service charge added by the ticketing company, and sometimes additional fees for delivery or digital tickets. These charges are significant: coverage in 2026 reported an increase in Ticketmaster México's service charge, giving the example of a 2,000-peso ticket whose charge rose from 440 to 480 pesos. Profeco has stated that it does not regulate service charges or dynamic prices as such, leaving those amounts to the market, while focusing on transparent information. That distinction matters. The authority's position is that consumers must know the full price before buying, not that a specific level of fees is forbidden. For buyers, the practical step is to compare the zone price and the total with charges before entering the queue, and to budget for the total per ticket rather than for the face value printed in the announcement.
New guidelines announced by Profeco in 2026 aimed at large concerts reinforce that logic. According to coverage of the guidelines, ticketing companies must publish ticket prices at least 24 hours before a sale opens and avoid increases at the final payment step, and Ticketmaster México said it would comply; the reported scope covers concerts with more than 20,000 attendees. Coverage also referred to limits on dynamic pricing for those events. Because the details of the guidelines and their application may evolve, check the latest Profeco publications for the exact obligations. In parallel, a bill to reform the federal consumer protection law, which would require final prices from the start and penalize abusive resale, was reported to be stalled in Congress. For a Mexican presale in 2027, the realistic expectation is therefore published prices before the sale for large shows, but no cap on the service charge.
Profeco, complaints and the Mexican presale after the BTS sale
The sales for BTS's Mexican dates in early 2026 became a turning point. Fans complained to Profeco that prices had not been shown before the virtual queue opened, and in late January 2026 the authority announced proceedings against Ticketmaster and actions directed at resale platforms. Coverage in February 2026 reported a fine of more than five million pesos against Ticketmaster, alongside formal warnings to several resale platforms based abroad. Whatever the final outcome of those proceedings, they show that Profeco is willing to intervene when buyers lack clear information. If you encounter a problem during a Mexican presale, such as charges that were not displayed, a cancellation without explanation or a refund that does not arrive, you can file a complaint with Profeco through its online channels or its phone line, and the authority can mediate with the company. Keep screenshots, the order number and the confirmation email, because they are the evidence your complaint will rely on.
Reventa, nominative tickets and transfers after a Mexican presale
Mexico does not have a single federal rule capping resale prices at the time of writing; the reform debated in Congress would address abusive resale, but it had not been adopted according to the coverage we found. In practice, the terms set by the organizer and the ticketing company decide what a buyer may do with tickets after a presale. Some high-demand events link tickets to the buyer's name or require identification at the entrance, while others allow transfer through the platform's app, and the conditions can differ between events promoted by the same company. Digital tickets on Ticketmaster México are often released in the app only shortly before the show, which limits informal transfers. Read the terms on the event page before buying, especially if you are buying for someone else, and check whether the name on the order must match the person attending. The resale rules guide compares the approaches taken by different countries.
Mexico City first: the geography of a Mexican presale in 2027
International tours in Mexico concentrate heavily on the capital. Ten of the eleven Mexican shows in our 2027 data are in Mexico City, with venues ranging from the large stadiums and arenas to concert halls. U2's The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour 2027 includes a Mexico City date on 23 February 2027, with an artist presale on record on 22 October 2026. Guadalajara appears once, through Hilary Duff's Lucky Me Tour, which has dates in Guadalajara and Mexico City in February 2027 but no sale dates on record at the time of writing. Monterrey, the third major market, often receives dates on Latin and regional Mexican tours but appeared on none of the international tours in our current data. Several tours, including those of Sombr and Damien Rice, list Mexico City dates in 2027 without announced sale dates. Those are the cases where tapping 🔔 Alert me next to the tour on the calendar is most useful.

Mexican presale FAQ
These answers address the questions fans in Mexico ask most often before a sale, from the role of the partner bank and the queue to service charges, complaints and transfers. They describe the situation at the time of writing, in autumn 2026, and deliberately avoid promising outcomes, because no presale guarantees a ticket and every event publishes its own conditions. Where something depends on a bank, a card network or Profeco's guidelines, the answer says so and points to the source to check. For vocabulary used in Spanish-language announcements, such as preventa, venta general, fila virtual, cargo por servicio and boletos digitales, the presale glossary explains each term, and the general presale FAQ covers questions that apply in every country, including what to do if a payment fails during checkout. Each answer stands on its own, so you can go directly to the question that matches your situation this season.
Do I need a code for a Mexican presale with a bank?
Usually not. Bank and card network presales in Mexico generally verify eligibility through the first digits of the card entered on the Ticketmaster event page, and the purchase must then be paid with that card or another eligible one. Codes are more common in artist or fan club presales, where the act sends access to people who registered through its official list or app. Whatever the window, the access comes from the official channel, never from a third party, and we neither publish nor share codes. If you are unsure which window applies to you, read the announcement: it names the bank or network, the dates and times of each window, and the ticket limits. Our alerts send that information when it is announced, with the local start time in Mexico City, so you can prepare your card, your account and your payment settings in advance rather than on the morning itself.
Can I pay in meses sin intereses during a Mexican presale?
Often, but not always. Interest-free monthly installments are a common feature of bank presales, particularly with Banamex credit cards on Ocesa events, and they can also be offered during the general sale for certain cards. The conditions vary: a minimum purchase amount usually applies, the number of months available depends on the amount and the bank, and debit cards generally do not qualify. The option appears at checkout if your card is eligible, and it may not be shown if the total falls below the threshold. Check the bank's current promotion terms for the event, which are published on the bank's website and in the event announcement. Remember that installments do not change the ticket price or service charge; they spread the total over several statements. Make sure your credit limit covers the full amount on the day of purchase, because the whole sum is authorized at once.
What can I do if the price at checkout differs in a Mexican presale?
First, do not complete the payment if the total is not what you expected; review the breakdown, which separates the ticket price, the service charge and any delivery fee. If you believe the information shown before the queue or on the seat map was misleading, take screenshots of each step, including the time, and keep the event page as it appeared. You can contact Ticketmaster México's support channels, and if the issue is not resolved, file a complaint with Profeco, which mediates between consumers and companies and has acted on ticketing complaints in 2026. Profeco's guidelines for large concerts require prices to be published before the sale opens, and the authority has said it focuses on information rather than on regulating the amount of service charges. A complaint is strongest when it shows what was displayed, when, and what you were charged in the end.
Are tickets bought in a Mexican presale transferable?
It depends on the event. Some organizers allow transfers through the Ticketmaster México app, others link tickets to the buyer's name or ask for identification at the entrance, and some restrict resale entirely. The ticket terms on the event page state which rule applies, and they are the reference, not general habits. Digital tickets often appear in the app only a few days before the show, so a transfer may not be possible until then. If you are buying for friends or family, check whether each attendee must hold their own account or whether a single buyer can transfer tickets later. Mexico had no federal resale price cap at the time of writing, though reforms have been debated. If something goes wrong with a transfer, contact the platform first and keep your order number and confirmation email ready, since both are needed to trace the tickets.
How early should I plan for a Mexican presale in 2027?
Earlier than the sale date suggests. In our data, Mexican shows went on sale a median of about 174 days before the concert, so a show in the first half of 2027 typically opened in the autumn of 2026, and shows later in 2027 are expected to follow a similar lead time. The first step is to identify the channels that might hold a presale: the artist's list, the bank partner for the promoter, and the card networks. The second is to prepare your Ticketmaster México account, payment card and online banking security before the announcement, because the gap between the presale and the general sale is often only one to three days. The third is to sign up for alerts. Use the alert form on this page or tap 🔔 Alert me next to a tour on the calendar to receive the dates and channels as soon as they are announced.
