Presales in Italy in 2027: Prevendite and Named Tickets
An Italian presale, or prevendita in the narrow sense of an early priority window, takes place inside a ticketing system defined more by law than by marketing. Italy is one of the few European countries where concert tickets for large venues must carry the name of the holder, and where reselling tickets above face value is restricted by a specific statute enforced by the communications regulator. Those two rules change the way fans should approach every release. A presale in Italy is not only about getting through the queue; it is about entering the right names, understanding how a name change works and knowing which official channels can be used if plans change. The market is also concentrated geographically, with Milan and Rome hosting most international concerts, while summer brings open-air shows to historic squares, arenas and festival sites across the country. This guide explains how the system fits together for 2027.
Our 2027 data for Italy covers 31 tours and 52 shows. Milan leads with 25 shows and Rome follows with 13, with further dates in Lucca, Bari, Bologna, Venice, Verona, Asti and Este, the last few largely tied to summer open-air seasons. Presales in our data opened on a Friday 14 times, on a Thursday four times and on a Wednesday three times, while general sales opened on a Friday 19 times. The median gap between presale and general sale is zero days, so the Italian prevendita often runs on the same day as the general release, or the day before. The median lead from first sale to concert is around 252 days, one of the longest among the European markets we track, partly because summer stadium and open-air concerts are announced very early. The sections below set out the legal framework first, because it affects every decision that follows, and then the platforms, promoters, costs and timing.

Named tickets: the rule behind every Italian presale
Since 1 July 2019, Italian law has required tickets for live entertainment in venues with a capacity of more than 5,000 to be nominative. The obligation was introduced by amending the 2017 budget law, law 232 of 2016, and it requires the name of the person attending to appear on the ticket, with identity checked by the issuer at the point of sale. Several categories are excluded, including opera, symphonic music, theatre, jazz, ballet and dance, contemporary circus, travelling shows and sporting events, which have their own rules. In practice this means that almost every pop, rock or rap concert in an arena or stadium is sold with named tickets, and that the buyer must provide the name of each attendee during checkout. At the entrance, staff may compare the name on the ticket with an identity document. For an Italian presale this adds a step that fans in many other countries never face, and it is the main reason preparation matters so much here.
Changing the name on an Italian presale ticket
The same legislation provides a route for changing the name on a ticket. According to the text as summarised by legal commentators and the Italian Revenue Agency, the primary sellers, authorised box offices and official event websites must allow the holder's name to be changed free of charge, apart from the costs of handling the request, and must allow a nominative ticket to be resold to another individual at face value without any mark-up. Each platform implements this through its own interface, typically called cambio nominativo, and may set deadlines before the event after which changes are no longer possible. If you are buying in an Italian presale for a group, enter the correct names from the start whenever you can, and check the platform's rules on how many changes are permitted and until when. If someone drops out, use the official change function rather than an informal transfer, because a mismatch between the ticket and the attendee's identity document can lead to refused entry.

Secondary ticketing law and the Italian presale
Italy also has a specific rule on resale. Paragraph 545 of article 1 of law 232 of 2016 prohibits the sale of tickets for shows by anyone other than the holders of the authorised ticket-issuing systems, with one exception: the occasional sale by a private individual, without commercial purpose, at a price equal to or lower than face value. The communications regulator AGCOM enforces the rule, and its decisions refer to administrative fines ranging from 5,000 to 180,000 euros, as well as orders to remove content or block sites in the most serious cases. AGCOM has issued sanctions against several secondary platforms in recent years for listing tickets above face value, and the Italian courts have upheld at least some of those penalties. For buyers, the practical consequence is simple: tickets bought in an Italian presale can be passed on through official channels at face value, but the law does not provide for a profitable resale.
Official resale after an Italian presale
Because nominative tickets can be resold only at face value and through authorised channels, the main Italian platforms offer their own resale or transfer functions. These allow a buyer who can no longer attend to put a ticket back on sale, or to change the name in favour of another person, with any handling fee charged by the platform. The details differ by platform and by event: some shows enable resale shortly after the general sale, others open it closer to the date, and some artists or promoters restrict it. For the buyer of a resold ticket, the advantage is that the name change is registered officially, so the new holder's identity will match the ticket at the gate. Before you buy in an Italian presale, read the event conditions for resale and name change, because they are your safety net if your plans change. Our resale rules guide sets out how these models compare across Europe.

TicketOne, Ticketmaster Italia and Vivaticket: who runs an Italian presale
Three platforms account for most concert sales in Italy. TicketOne, part of the German CTS Eventim group, is the historic market leader and sells a large share of arena and stadium concerts, particularly those promoted by companies in the same group. Ticketmaster Italia has grown significantly with Live Nation's activity in the country and is the usual platform for Live Nation Italia tours; in our 2027 data it is named for releases such as Nickelback's Milan date, which had presale activity from Tuesday 13 October 2026 and general sale on Friday 16 October. Vivaticket, an Italian company, is strong in theatre, museums and sport and also sells a number of concerts and festivals. Some shows are sold on more than one platform, with separate allocations. Because the Italian presale is often exclusive to one seller even when general sale is shared, identify the platform named for the prevendita before the day and create your account there.
Accounts and identity data for an Italian presale
Nominative ticketing means platform accounts in Italy ask for more information than in many other countries. Expect to provide the name, surname and sometimes date of birth of each attendee, and make sure the account holder's details are verified before the presale opens. Some platforms limit the number of tickets per account and per event, and the limits for presales can be tighter than for general sale. Payment cards should be enabled for online purchases and for any extra security confirmation your bank requires, because a failed payment during a busy release can send you back to the end of the queue. The queue itself works much as in other markets: arrive a few minutes before the start time, use one device and one tab, and do not refresh while waiting. Our presale queue guide explains in detail how virtual waiting rooms assign places.

Promoters and My Live Nation in the Italian presale
Italian concerts are organised by a small group of large promoters and a wider circle of independents. Live Nation Italia handles many international pop and rock tours and runs presales for registered users, typically promoted as My Live Nation presales through Ticketmaster Italia. ENHYPEN's Milan date in our data is an example of the layered model, combining an artist presale and a Live Nation presale on Thursday 23 April 2026 with general sale on Friday 24 April. Friends & Partners and Vivo Concerti, both linked to the CTS Eventim group, are among the main promoters of Italian artists and many international tours, and their releases tend to be sold through TicketOne. Barley Arts and other independent promoters also bring international acts to Italy. The promoter decides whether there is a presale and who qualifies, so following the promoter's newsletter and social channels is one of the best ways to hear about an Italian presale early. See our promoter presale guide for background.
Card and artist routes into an Italian presale
Card presales are less frequent in Italy than in the United Kingdom, but they exist. American Express runs presales on some international tours: Harry Styles' two Rome dates in August 2027 had an Amex window in our data, with presale activity on Monday 14 September 2026 and general sale on Wednesday 16 September. Artist presales, based on the act's own mailing list or fan platform, are common for international artists touring Europe and usually open on the same morning across several countries. For Italian artists with large fan bases, fan club presales and official fan communities can provide early access, with conditions set by each artist's team. None of these routes is guaranteed to exist for every tour, and each has its own registration deadline. We never publish or sell codes; our alerts tell you which official channel runs each Italian presale and when it opens. Our guides to the Amex presale and the fan club presale explain how these windows usually work.

Diritti di prevendita and the cost of an Italian presale ticket
Italian ticket prices are typically shown as face value plus diritti di prevendita, the advance booking fee. This fee is a long-established feature of the Italian market, usually expressed as a fixed amount or a percentage of the face value, and it is added to every ticket bought before the event, whether in a presale or the general sale. Online platforms may also charge a service fee per order and a fee for certain delivery methods. The amounts vary from event to event and are set by agreement between the promoter and the ticketing company, so we do not publish fixed figures. What matters for the buyer is to compare the total at checkout rather than the face value on the poster. In the context of resale, the face value is the reference price: the law permits occasional resale by an individual at a price equal to or lower than face value, and official resale functions work on that basis. Our dynamic pricing explainer covers premium and demand-based categories.
Italian presale hours: ore 10, ore 11 and the Friday pattern
Italian releases do not follow a single start time. Many presales and general sales open at 10:00, but 11:00 is also common in Italy, and some releases open at noon, 14:00 or later. That variety is one reason Italian announcements are worth reading carefully: the hour is usually stated on the poster as ore 10 or ore 11, and a fan who assumes a European tour has the same start time everywhere can easily miss the Italian window. Friday is the dominant day for general sales in our data, and the most common day for presales too, with Thursday and Wednesday as alternatives. Sting's STING 3.0 dates in Asti, Rome and Verona, Damien Rice's Rome show and Dominic Fike's Milan date all went on sale on Friday 23 October 2026 in our data. A typical Italian sequence is an announcement early in the week, a presale on Thursday or Friday morning, and general sale on Friday. Our Italy presale calendar lists confirmed 2027 windows.
Summer open-air dates and the Italian presale
Italy's summer concert season has a character of its own. Alongside stadiums in Milan and Rome, international artists play historic and open-air venues such as the Arena di Verona, piazzas in Tuscany and the Veneto, coastal sites in Apulia and dedicated summer festivals. In our 2027 data, Simply Red's Summer Funk '27 tour includes Bari, Lucca, Rome and Venice; Take That's Dreamers tour visits Este, Lucca and Rome; and Sting plays Asti, Rome and Verona. These summer dates are often announced in the autumn or winter before, and they frequently go on sale through the platforms associated with each festival's promoter. Capacities vary widely, from intimate historic settings to large open-air sites, which affects whether the nominative rule applies: only venues above 5,000 capacity fall under the mandatory named-ticket requirement. Check each event's conditions, because a smaller open-air date may be sold without names while a larger one requires them.

Italian presale FAQ
The answers below cover the questions fans most often ask about presales in Italy. They describe the legal framework as it stood at the time of writing and the habits we observe in our 2027 data, but each tour sets its own rules, and platforms, promoters and partners can change their programmes at short notice. Where a rule comes from legislation, we describe it in general terms and recommend checking the current text and the event conditions. We do not publish, share or sell presale codes, and no one can legitimately sell you one. Codes and access links come only from the official channel running the prevendita: the artist, the promoter, the card issuer or the ticketing platform. What we provide is information about when and where each window takes place. Use the alert form on this page, or tap the alert button next to a tour, and we will email you when an Italian presale is announced.
Do I need an Italian identity document for an Italian presale?
No. Nominative tickets require the name of each attendee, and identity may be checked at the venue, but visitors from abroad can use a passport or a national identity card from their own country. When you buy, enter each name exactly as it appears on the document the person will bring to the concert. Some platforms ask for a date of birth or other details for each attendee, so collect that information from your group before the presale opens. Artist and promoter presales on TicketOne and Ticketmaster Italia are generally open to buyers outside Italy who register in time and hold an account on the relevant platform. Card presales, such as Amex windows, may require a card issued in a specific market. Make sure your payment card works for online purchases in euros and that your bank's confirmation step will not time out during checkout.
Can I resell a ticket bought in an Italian presale?
Under Italian law, a private individual may occasionally resell a ticket without commercial purpose at a price equal to or lower than face value. For nominative tickets, the transfer should be made through the official channels provided by the primary seller, which allow the name on the ticket to be changed in favour of the new holder, with only handling costs charged. Selling at a profit is not permitted under the secondary ticketing rule, and AGCOM enforces that rule against platforms and sellers. In practice, the easiest route is to use the resale or name-change function of the platform where you bought the ticket, within the deadline set for the event. This is general information rather than legal advice; for a specific situation, check the event's conditions of sale and the platform's help pages before taking any action.
Are Italian presale tickets cheaper than general sale?
Usually not. An Italian presale gives earlier access to the same categories and prices offered at general sale, and the diritti di prevendita and online service fees apply in the same way. The benefit is choice: presale buyers see the full range of seats before most fans reach the seat map. Some tours offer premium or VIP packages that are promoted heavily during the presale, which can make the first offers look more expensive, but standard categories normally keep the same price throughout the release. Compare the total price at checkout, including fees, and set a budget before the queue opens. Remember that, as in most of the European Union, consumers do not have a general fourteen-day withdrawal right on tickets for leisure events on a specific date, so a confirmed purchase cannot normally be cancelled simply because you change your mind.
What happens if I misspell a name in an Italian presale?
Mistakes happen during a fast checkout, and the Italian system provides a way to correct them. Platforms that sell nominative tickets offer a name-change function, usually accessible from your account, which allows the name on a ticket to be modified up to a deadline before the event. The law provides that the change is free apart from handling costs, though the exact fee and procedure depend on the platform. Act quickly if you spot an error, because deadlines can be several days before the show and some events limit the number of changes. If you cannot find the function or the deadline has passed, contact the platform's customer service with your order details. At the venue, staff may compare the ticket with the attendee's identity document, so a correct name is not a formality for an Italian presale purchase. Preparing the names in advance is the best way to avoid the problem.
When will more Italian presales for 2027 be announced?
Announcements continue throughout the year. With a median lead of around 252 days between the first sale and the concert in our Italian data, shows in the second half of 2027 are likely to be announced and sold between late 2026 and spring 2027. Summer open-air seasons in Verona, Lucca, Rome and other cities are typically announced in the autumn and winter beforehand, while arena tours for the following spring are often released between May and October of the previous year. We do not estimate dates that promoters have not published, and tours not yet confirmed remain unannounced in our calendar. The most reliable approach is to sign up for alerts on the artists and cities you follow, so that you hear about each Italian presale as soon as the official channel makes it public and have time to prepare names and accounts.
